Air conditioning controls

This summer has brought many challenges and probably taken a lot of us by surprise. The media pre summer beat up forecast rain, rain and more rain, but typically we have seen dryer than average conditions and temperatures in Brisbane break record highs. These conditions have seen a huge increase in air conditioning installations for the end to 2011 and a great start to 2012.

We have recieved an extremely high amount of air conditioning breakdown calls and issues with temperature controls, one of the major annoyances experienced by customers has been temperature fluctuations across offices, childcare centres, medical centres and air conditioned areas using ducted systems.

With over 20 years of cooling knowledge and customer service we can fully appreciate that there are no two people completely alike and embrace this as this difference creates progression and forward thinking. Our air conditioning technicians have been working hard to create environmental bliss to businesses that have been supplied ducted air conditioners with unbalanced and inadequate controls. When designing central air conditioning units to supply cooling to a multiple arrangement there are factors to be considered.

1- The amount of air supplied to each room needs to be constant, this can be achieved by in line dampers which allows for perfect air balance. Also the return air plenums need to be perfectly possitioned to get a constant air return.

2- Temperature control needs to reflect site specific conditions, if there are multiple offices/rooms we suggest individual temperature controlled damper motors, this will give perfect temperature control and allow multiple temperature ranges. We have experienced this in medical centres where the nurses stations are too warm and individual consulting rooms are too cold leaving packed waiting rooms sweltering.

3- Unit position is critical, if your air conditioner is at the far end of the building achieving good air flow to the far outreaching spaces will be difficult. Noise is also a huge consideration the worst case we found was a unit positioned above the CEOs desk, not good when a water leak occurs.

Please feel free to discuss your individual requirements with one of our air conditioning engineers and supply us with as much information as you can, as your air conditioning system is a longterm investment and can be the difference between an effiecent sytem or a very unhappy customer.
